CoreWeave shares fall another 11.9% on Friday and end the week down about 25%, as the Nasdaq has its worst week since late June

The AI cloud company closed at $61.39, its second big fall in three days, after a rebound on Thursday.

What changed: on 14 October CoreWeave's shares fell 15.46% on worries about its debt, which the Switchboard reported on 15 October. On Friday 16 October they fell again. CoreWeave closed at $61.39, down from $69.69 on Thursday, according to Yahoo Finance's daily price table. That is a fall of about 11.9% on the day. A week earlier, on 9 October, the stock closed at $82.08, so the week's loss is about 25%.

Investopedia, in a markets story carried by Yahoo Finance, said the shares “finished down 12%, a second big drop in three days.” It also reported that the Nasdaq fell 4.5% over the week, ending a four-week winning streak.

The wider market fell too. AP reported that the S&P 500 lost 84.62 points to 7,659.44 and the Nasdaq composite lost 572.99 points to 26,140.03 on Friday, “capping off the market's worst week since late June.”

CoreWeave rents Nvidia graphics processors to AI labs and has borrowed heavily to build its data centres, so its shares and bonds have become a gauge of investors' worry about debt behind the AI build-out. No company statement or filing from CoreWeave appeared in the window. Reuters reported more on its bonds and the cost of insuring its debt, but that report could not be opened directly, so its figures are not used here.
