What it is
A new edition goes up every morning, Central Time. It leads with the most important story, then the rest of the day's news, quotes from the people involved, and the openings and risks the news points to. Alongside the daily edition, the site keeps running pages on the leaders, companies, AI models and AI stocks that the news keeps coming back to.
Who makes it
The AI Switchboard is made and run by Dr. Waggle SchTack, an independent publisher (@dr.waggleschtack on Instagram). It is not affiliated with any AI company. It carries no advertising, and no one pays to appear in it.
How each edition is made
The Switchboard is researched and written with AI. Every morning an automated run uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, to search the web for the last day's AI news, open and read the original sources, and draft the stories. It follows written rules, and checks its own work against them before anything is published:
- Every point links to the page it came from, a page the run actually opened, not a guess.
- Every point carries a label: Confirmed (on the record, or shown in the original document), Reported (attributed to a named news outlet, which is named) or Claimed (a company's or speaker's own assertion).
- Quotes are word for word. The key source pages are read twice, and a figure or quote the two readings don't agree on is dropped.
- A second pass reopens every source before publishing and checks each point, figure, quote and attribution against it. Anything it cannot confirm is corrected or cut.
- Stories are ranked on how widely they are being covered, who is involved, how new they are, how much they matter to where money is being made, and how sure the evidence is.
AI can still get things wrong. That is why every point shows its source and its label: if something matters to you, follow the link and read the original.
