Anthropic puts $100m into training 10,000 engineers to install Claude inside big companies by the end of 2027
The first trainees of the Claude Frontier Academy come from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk.
Anthropic announced the Claude Frontier Academy on 2 October. It says it is committing $100 million to the programme and aims to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027. These are the people who make AI tools work inside a real business.
The first cohort comes from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk. Trainees start with a multi-day, in-person programme that includes a simulated enterprise deployment. Those who pass earn a Claude Resident Engineer badge and move into a 12-week residency, leading a real Claude use case at their own organisation. The Claude Frontier Deployed Engineer badge comes after the residency, and Anthropic expects the first ones in early 2027.
Steve Corfield, Anthropic's Global Head of Business Development and Partnerships, said: “A small team of high-agency people with the right skills, access to Claude, and a deep understanding of how their business runs can transform an entire company.”
The page does not say what the $100 million pays for, whether credits, fees or Anthropic's staff time, or whether trainees pay anything; that is not visible from here. The bet behind it is that the scarce resource in enterprise AI is now people who can deploy agents, not the models. It follows Anthropic's Barclays announcement, run on 2 October, and is a separate event. Anthropic is private.
