SiMa.ai raises $150m at a $1.45bn valuation to put AI on the edge device
The edge-AI chip company announced a Series C on Monday morning co-led by Fidelity and Amplify, taking total funding to $500m. The release names twelve customers and partners including Bosch, Micron and Synopsys. Its headline market claim — a $50 trillion market — is the founder's, not a measured figure.
The confirmed figures, from the company's own release, are a $150m Series C, a $1.45bn post-money valuation and $500m in total capital raised to date. Fidelity Management & Research Company and Amplify are named as co-leads, and the participating list is unusually institutional for a Series C, including Dell Technologies Capital, Point72, StepStone Group, AllianceBernstein, J.P. Morgan and the State of Michigan. That the post-money valuation is stated explicitly matters — plenty of rounds leave readers to infer it, and inference is where valuations get inflated.
The commercial evidence is partly checkable and partly not. The named customers and partners — among them Bosch, Emerson, Micron, Synopsys and TRUMPF — are a specific, falsifiable list, and a company putting twelve named counterparties in a release exposes itself in a way “leading manufacturers” does not. The growth figure is not checkable. The release says the company quadrupled year-over-year revenue growth between 2024 and 2025, which is a statement about its own revenue and therefore a claim — and note the phrasing, because quadrupling a growth rate is not the same as quadrupling revenue. No revenue level is given, so the multiple attaches to nothing a reader can size.
The roadmap number is the one to hold the company to: 1,000 dense TOPS of compute in purpose-built silicon in the first half of 2028. That is a product promise about unshipped hardware roughly eighteen months out, and worth diarising. One outlet reported the target as 1,000 TFLOPS; the company's release says dense TOPS, twice confirmed, and integer and floating-point operations are not interchangeable units.
The founder's framing is the release's most quotable and least verifiable line, putting physical AI in humanoids, automotive and drones at the gateway to a $50 trillion market. A total addressable market of $50trn is roughly half of global GDP. It is a claim, stated as one, and it belongs in the marketing column rather than the sizing column.
