No new models over the weekend, and the open weights Mistral and Reflection promised for October are still not out

No major lab released a model on 11 or 12 October, according to two public trackers and the labs' own pages checked early on Monday, Central time. Pricepertoken's model-release feed, marked “Last updated: October 12, 2026”, showed zero releases in the last 24 hours, and its newest entry was Mistral Large 4, filed under 6 October. LLM Gateway's timeline lists nothing released after 9 October; its newest entries are Reka Edge 2603, Microsoft-Decision-1 and Qwen Image 2.1 Turbo.

The two big open-weight releases promised for this month are still promises. Mistral's Large 4 announcement still says: “We will release the weights by the end of the month.” None of the recently updated repositories on Mistral's Hugging Face page is Large 4. Reflection's post introducing Beam, dated 5 October, still says: “We will release the weights, technical report, model card, and developer artifacts later this month.” Its only update, dated 8 October, concerns revised benchmark results.

Anthropic's newsroom has nothing newer than 8 October. OpenAI's site could not be read from here.

The quiet matters for anyone waiting to build on either model. Large 4, at a trillion parameters, and Beam, at 501 billion, would be among the largest open-weight models available. Both companies have about three weeks left to meet their own dates.
