Meta releases Muse Wonder, its first frontier model, at $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens

There are two versions. Muse Wonder is on Meta's Model API and in Muse Code now; Muse Wonder Full is for Muse Code subscribers only. Meta says a fuller safety report will be “available soon”.

Why it matters: Meta now sells a frontier model through its own API, at a price aimed at the agent work Anthropic, OpenAI and Google compete for. Its safety report is promised rather than published, so outsiders cannot yet check Meta's claims about the model.

Meta released the Muse Wonder series on 12 October: Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full. Its blog calls them its most capable models, which “deliver state-of-the-art performance on personal and professional agentic tasks.” TechCrunch calls Wonder the company's first attempt at a frontier model; the lightweight Muse Spark came before it.

Muse Wonder is available now through the Meta Model API and Muse Code. Meta's developer page prices it at $4.00 per million input tokens, $0.20 per million cached input tokens and $20.00 per million output tokens, with a context window of one million tokens. Muse Wonder Full has no API price; it is sold only by subscription in Muse Code. Meta says Wonder “will soon power experiences in Muse, and will roll out first to subscribers.”

Meta's pitch is memory: it says Wonder brings together “Active Memory and Active Focus” to keep track of what matters to the user. TechCrunch reports that Wonder now scores higher on MemoryBench than Anthropic's Fable and Opus and OpenAI's Astra. No independent score was visible from here, and Meta's full benchmark table is not repeated here because two reads of it disagreed.

On safety, Meta calls Wonder its “most aligned model to date” and says it has the company's strongest safeguards yet against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) misuse, while keeping frontier cyber capabilities open for defensive use. It also says: “A full report with additional safety evaluations will be available soon.” The model card is a PDF that could not be read here. Meta says nothing about releasing the weights.
