Meta Connect: $1,299.99 VR Glasses for spring 2027, Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 from $449, hologram calling, and Muse coming to its AI glasses
Meta also showed a pocket device for its Muse agent and gave Muse new shopping and app connections and its own email address.
At its Connect event on 23 September, Meta showed Meta VR Glasses. It says they weigh about 100 grams, run on a Qualcomm processor through a tethered puck, and “will go on sale Spring 2027 for $1,299.99 USD”. They bring hologram calling, which Meta describes as “a photorealistic digital version of you”. Engadget reported that the avatars run on a new Muse Realtime Avatar model.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3) “is available today, with prices starting at $449 USD”, Meta said, with up to nine hours of battery. An audio-focused Ray-Ban Meta Audio opened for pre-order at $349, shipping on 13 October.
The AI news was Muse, the personal agent Meta launched earlier in September. Meta said it is bringing Muse to its AI glasses in the coming months; users will be able to call the agent by name and have it act on what they are looking at. Meta also showed Muse Charm, a pocket-sized device for talking to Muse, and said it would share more later this year. Muse gets new connections to Walmart, Best Buy, Sephora, Wayfair, Notion and GitHub, payment through Shop Pay and PayPal, and its own email address.
All of these are Meta's own descriptions and prices. The Switchboard ran Muse's launch on 22 September and Muse Wonder, Meta's frontier model, on 13 October; the Connect hardware and the glasses version of Muse did not run.
