Bitcoin Japan signs an exclusive deal to distribute six UBTech humanoid and service robot models in Japan

The Tokyo-listed company, founded in 1861 as Marusho Hotta, gets 36 months of exclusivity once the Walker C1 is certified in Japan. No money terms are given.

Bitcoin Japan Corporation, listed in Tokyo, said on 19 October that it signed an exclusive agreement on 16 October with UBTech Robotics to distribute six of its models in Japan: Walker S2, Walker Tienkung, Tienkung Dex, Sky Walker, Walker C1 and Cruzr S2. Most are humanoids; Cruzr is a service robot.

The exclusivity runs for 36 months from the day the first model, Walker C1, meets Japan's conformity and certification conditions, and keeping it depends on agreed performance requirements. Before certification, robots may be supplied for research, data collection and demonstrations where Japanese law allows.

Bitcoin Japan plans three lines of business: selling robots, renting them out as a service with operations included, and licensing the “physical AI” data the robots gather, subject to rights. The company was founded in 1861 as Marusho Hotta and took its current name in November 2025.

The release gives no financial terms and says the effect on results for the year to March 2027 is still being assessed. Its chief executive, Phillip Lord, said: “AI is moving beyond screens and into the physical world.”

UBTech, listed in Hong Kong, makes the Walker S2 industrial humanoid. On 11 October the Switchboard reported its plan with Xiamen C&D for a joint venture to sell at least 10,000 of its humanoids by 2030; this deal is its route into Japan.
