BBVA launches “The Frame”, one group-wide model for building, permitting and costing its AI agents

The Spanish bank says its developers are about 28% more productive and its voice agents resolve close to 90% of interactions in pilots.

BBVA announced on 6 October a group-wide model, “The Frame”, for creating, deploying, managing and governing AI agents. It sets a common technology environment, shared processes and roles, access controls that decide which actions an agent may take on its own and which need human oversight, continuous monitoring of performance, cost and business impact, and a single security and compliance framework.

Antonio Bravo, the bank's Global Head of AI Transformation, said the model “will allow us to build many more agents, faster, in a way that is secure, repeatable and manageable, while maintaining control and creating value.”

BBVA also gives its own results so far. It says its “software developers have improved their productivity by around 28%”, that employees who use AI regularly are “saving an average of 2.4 hours per week on repetitive, lower-value tasks”, and that “voice agents successfully resolve close to 90% of interactions in production pilots in Peru and Mexico”. These are the bank's own figures and have not been checked independently.

The announcement came on the same day DNB put a number of jobs on work it says AI agents now do. BBVA's release gives no headcount figure.
