AMD closes up about 10% and passes $1 trillion in market value for the first time, as investors bet Meta's Muse will need more CPUs
Arm rose about 17% and Intel posted a double-digit gain the same day. One outlet notes the reporting did not show how much CPU capacity Muse actually uses.
AMD's market value passed $1 trillion for the first time on Monday 21 September, Implicator, Nairametrics and Crypto Briefing reported. Implicator reported that AMD “closed up about 10% on Monday”, and KuCoin's market blog put the gain at 9.95%.
Other processor makers rose with it. Arm climbed about 17%, according to both Implicator and Crypto Briefing. Intel posted a double-digit gain, but the outlets gave different figures for it, so none is repeated here.
Implicator and Crypto Briefing tied the rally to Meta's Muse agent, which gives each user a dedicated virtual computer in the cloud. Investors bet that work of this kind leans heavily on CPUs, the general-purpose processors AMD, Intel and Arm's licensees make, rather than only on the GPUs that have driven most AI spending so far.
Implicator added a caution: “Monday's reporting did not show how much CPU capacity Muse uses.” It also said the reporting did not separate Muse from other drivers that day, including a broad rally in chip shares.
There is no issuer document for a share price, so every figure here is marked as reported, with the outlet named. The Switchboard's 24 September edition covered other stock moves tied to Muse; AMD's milestone was not in it.
