Meta opens an enterprise business line for its Muse agents, and hires MongoDB's former CEO to run it

Meta announced Meta Enterprise Platform on 28 September, a business line to sell its AI stack to companies and developers. Mark Zuckerberg's post is direct about the ambition: “Today we are starting the next major pillar of our business, Meta Enterprise Platform, to help businesses use AI to grow and transform in new ways as well.” The first offering is Meta's full technology stack, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code.

To run it, Meta has hired Chirantan “CJ” Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer. Meta's post lists his record: chief executive and president of MongoDB, product and engineering leadership at Cloudflare, and nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as president and chief operating officer.

This is a genuine development on the Muse story that ran here on 22 and 24 September. Then, Muse was a consumer product priced at $20 and $100 a month that climbed the app charts. Now Meta is taking the same agent to business buyers, where the large cloud and business-software companies already sell agents.

What the announcement does not contain matters as much. There is no pricing, no availability date, no list of customers and no adoption figure. Until those appear, this is a declared strategy and a senior hire, not a revenue line.
